A paper mill on the Thames at Greenhithe

This collection covers localities where I do not have sufficient images to create a seperate entry. Locations so far included:
Holborough Cement Works
Empire Paper Mills

The Cement works at Swanscombe appeared to be a favourite of the photographer and these views were taken on a number of visits; unfortunately I have no dates although they are probably from the 1968-1971 period or until steam traction was abandoned. The site is now apparently a shopping complex 'Cest la Vie'

Views of the industrial railway system here including the standard gauge locomotives.
The views of the system at work are undated but the last train in 1969 is also featured. Luckily the photographer appeared to concentrate on the Ridham Dock to Kemsley section which was not part of the later Preserved railway. This section is now also under threat due to the closure of the Paper Mill and the Owners wanting to dispose of the land.

One of the 4 larger Kent Coalfield Pits that survived to be nationalised. The photographer also visited Snowdown and a collection covering this will also feature. The date of 1968 may be somewhat out and it is possible that the views are from 4 or 5 years earlier. If anyone can work out a more accurate date please e-mail.
